Caitlyn Jenner Leaves Israel as Tensions with Iran Escalate

As Israel’s armed conflict with Iran intensifies for the fourth consecutive day, Caitlyn Jenner, the 75-year-old transgender influencer and Olympic gold medalist, successfully departed the country on Sunday. Jenner was in Tel Aviv as the guest of honor for the city’s Pride celebrations, which were canceled following a series of airstrikes on Iran that commenced on Friday, targeting high-ranking military officials and nuclear sites.

With all airspace closed due to Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes aimed at populous areas including Tel Aviv and Haifa, Jenner managed to exit Israel by traveling overland to Jordan. Reports indicate that Jordan’s airspace has been intermittently available during the ongoing conflict, as noted by The Times of Israel.

From Jordan, Jenner intends to fly back to Los Angeles. However, The Hollywood Reporter has not yet confirmed her travel details through her representatives in the U.S.

Jenner had arrived at Ben Gurion Airport on Thursday for a much-anticipated goodwill mission, gaining support from the Israeli government amid its prolonged hostilities with Hamas. Throughout the escalation, Jenner shared updates on social media, showing solidarity with Israel and its citizens.

“What an incredible way it has been to celebrate Shabbat. I am here in Israel, in Tel Aviv with you all. I am a friend, advocate, ally,” Jenner posted on X.

On Instagram, she posted a dramatic image of Tel Aviv’s skies lit by the Iron Dome system as it intercepted missiles. Her caption read: “A ‘quiet’ night in Tel Aviv. There is not a place I’d rather be, than with the brave people of Israel. God, please continue to shield and protect us.”

In another post by Israeli influencer Regev Gur, Jenner was seen enjoying a glass of red wine in a bomb shelter, to which Gur humorously remarked, “What did you do during the alerts, because I’m drinking wine with Caitlyn.” However, he later removed the post.

Meanwhile, CNN political analyst Scott Jennings remains in Israel, having spoken to The Hollywood Reporter from his hotel in Tiberias as Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) jets flew above. Jennings later moved to Jerusalem and recently shared a video on X showing incoming missiles amid heavy smoke and the sound of air raid sirens. He captioned the video with a poignant message: “4am footage from Jerusalem last night. When these intercepts hit, you can hear the boom and sometimes feel the vibration. Pray for the people in Israel killed & injured by Iranian missile strikes.”

According to reports from Reuters, the conflict has resulted in at least 24 Israeli fatalities and around 500 injuries from Iranian retaliatory strikes. The Iranian government has confirmed at least 224 deaths, claiming that 90% of the casualties were civilians. Loud explosions have continued to reverberate across Tehran into Monday morning, while the IDF has issued evacuation warnings for several districts due to the escalating situation.
