Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is emerging as a strong contender for Game of the Year, and while it has received widespread acclaim, its developer is not resting on its laurels. Sandfall Interactive has taken to social media to share insights about its ongoing developmental journey.
Since its launch in April, the RPG has exceeded the team’s expectations, prompting Sandfall to reevaluate their plans for ongoing support. Following a couple of substantial updates post-launch, the studio has now stated that it is “actively assessing” potential enhancements.
“We’re currently exploring a wide range of future improvements,” the studio announced. This includes a focus on “accessibility features,” “new content,” and various enhancements.
The mention of accessibility features is particularly notable, especially since the game’s latest update included a recalibration of the ‘Story Mode’ difficulty, making it more approachable. This could involve implementing additional visual indicators in combat and similar options, potentially widening the game’s audience without altering the core gameplay experience.
Additionally, the prospect of “new content” is exciting. While Sandfall has hinted at the possibility of downloadable content (DLC), no official announcements have been made yet.
