Sega’s mobile gaming initiative, Sega Forever, launched nearly a decade ago, bringing classic titles from the Genesis era and beyond to iOS and Android devices. While Sega officially ended the Sega Forever program in 2023, a few games continued to be available. Now, however, some of those titles are set to be removed, but there’s still a chance to download them for free.

Although Sega has not provided an exact timeline for when these games will be delisted, in-app notifications indicate that the following titles will soon be unavailable:

– Crazy Taxi Classic
– Golden Axe Classics
– Shining Force Classics
– Sonic CD Classic
– Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Ep. II
– Streets of Rage Classic
– Streets of Rage 2 Classic
– Super Monkey Ball: Sakura Ed.
– Virtua Tennis Challenge

These games are available for free and are ad-supported, allowing players to keep them even after they are taken off the store. It remains uncertain whether the advertisements will also cease when the games are eventually removed. As long as these titles are stored on your mobile device, they are yours to enjoy.

According to Lifehacker, some popular Sega titles, such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, will not be removed at this moment.

In related news, Sega has opened an official store in Shanghai, China, offering exclusive merchandise. Additionally, the release of Sonic Rumble, the next mobile installment in the Sonic franchise, has been postponed indefinitely. Furthermore, director Michael Bay and actress Sydney Sweeney are working on adapting Sega’s OutRun into a feature film.
