During a live broadcast on Monday morning, Kelly Ripa unexpectedly fainted while engaging in a discussion with an artificial intelligence program. As she fell to the ground at approximately 9:51 a.m. local time, Ripa humorously remarked, “Are you happy, Gemini? You’ve killed one of the hosts.”

This incident marks another notable occurrence in the trend of on-air fainting episodes among morning television personalities. Ripa, a prominent figure in daytime television, found herself in a moment reminiscent of Whoopi Goldberg’s previous mishaps on The View.

The unexpected fall happened during an intriguing conversation with Google Gemini, an AI program introduced by guest Lance Ulanoff. Initially engaged, Ripa soon expressed her disinterest, leaning toward Gemini to ask playfully, “Can you teach my friend Lance how to meet actual people?”

The audience chuckled as Ulanoff quipped about his worries over the hosts’ engagement. It was during this light-hearted exchange that Ripa slid down from her chair and lay flat on her back, prompting Gemini to note, “sometimes conversations can drift.”

From her position on the floor, Ripa again addressed Gemini, joking about her condition. Ulanoff, seeking to manage the situation, said, “There’s somebody lying at my feet. I think I bored them to death. What do I do?” Gemini quickly advised, “That’s definitely alarming. First, check if they’re okay. If they’re unresponsive, call for help immediately.”

After regaining her composure, Ripa stood up laughing and commented, “Okay, maybe Gemini does have a sense of humor.”

This latest incident adds to Ripa’s history of captivating television moments, echoing prior episodes involving Goldberg, who has experienced her share of dramatic on-air reactions. Live With Kelly and Mark airs weekdays in syndication, with specific times available in local listings.
