Lip Reader Reveals Kate Middleton’s Directive to Prince Louis at Trooping the Colour

A recent analysis by a lip reader has uncovered a firm instruction from Kate Middleton to her son, Prince Louis, during the Trooping the Colour ceremony. As the family prepared to return to Buckingham Palace after the Red Arrows flypast on Saturday, Middleton, 43, was observed saying, “National anthem. Louis, stand,” according to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, speaking to the Mirror.

In response to his mother’s request, the 7-year-old quickly straightened his posture and began to focus on the national anthem. Notably, Louis refrained from displaying his typical playful antics at the event, which celebrates the official birthday of the British monarch. In past years, he has attracted attention for his spirited behavior, including covering his ears and making faces.

Middleton shares Louis with her husband, Prince William, along with their older children, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10. At this weekend’s event, she donned an aquamarine outfit, complementing her daughter Charlotte’s similar attire.

This outing marked Middleton’s first public appearance since disclosing her remission from cancer in January. She appeared joyful and engaged while riding in a royal carriage, sharing moments of laughter with her children as they traveled to Buckingham Palace.

The family later joined William, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla for a photo opportunity on the palace balcony. Charlotte paid homage to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, by wearing a diamond brooch shaped like a horseshoe—an accessory reportedly gifted to her by the late monarch, who passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96. The two shared an affinity for horseback riding, making the gift particularly meaningful.
