A 23-year-old Texas man was taken into custody early Tuesday morning for reportedly trespassing at Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach estate of former President Donald Trump. According to a report from NBC News, Anthony Reyes was apprehended by Secret Service agents after he allegedly climbed a wall to gain access to the premises.
Upon his detention, Reyes expressed to authorities his intentions to “spread the gospel” to Trump and “marry Kai.” Kai Trump, aged 18, is the granddaughter of the former president and the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. The Secret Service confirmed they found Reyes on the property and noted that he had bypassed security measures to enter the area.
This was not Reyes’s first encounter with the law regarding Mar-a-Lago; he was previously arrested for trespassing at the same location on New Year’s Eve last year. The police report revealed that the site has been designated as a restricted area since July 2024, following a serious incident where a gunman opened fire at a Trump campaign rally in an attempted assassination.
The White House did not respond to inquiries about the incident on Tuesday. Reyes has since been booked at the Palm Beach County Jail, where his bond is set at $50,000. Conditions of his release include a prohibition on contact with Trump or any family members, including Kai Trump, and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
This incident adds to a series of security concerns at Trump’s properties, with another Florida man reportedly facing charges for an assassination attempt against Trump last fall at his West Palm Beach golf course. Additionally, Warren Jones Crazybull from Idaho was also charged for making threatening calls to Mar-a-Lago.
