NIS America has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2026, coinciding with its previously confirmed releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, regular Switch, and PC platforms including Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. This marks a postponement from its initial target of fall 2025.
Toshihiro Kondo, president of Falcom, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the game’s release. “I’m excited to announce that the latest entry in Nihon Falcom‘s Trails series, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon, will also be released on Nintendo Switch 2,” he stated in a press release. “With the power of the Nintendo Switch 2, we expect players to have an even more enjoyable experience. In fact, this will mark the debut of the Trails series on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I personally have high expectations for it. Please continue to look forward to the release!”
For those eager to secure their copy, pre-orders for the Switch 2 limited edition are now open on the NIS America Online Store, priced at $109.99. This edition will be delivered via a game-key card. Additionally, pre-orders for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and regular Switch versions are available for $99.99.
