Megan Fox and her on-and-off fiancé Machine Gun Kelly have announced the name of their daughter, three months after her birth. On Tuesday, Machine Gun Kelly shared a video on social media featuring him playing a ukulele for their newborn, revealing her name in the caption: “Saga Blade Fox-Colson,” accompanied by a burning heart emoji.
Baby name consultant and author Colleen Slagen explained the significance of the name ‘Saga.’ “Saga is a beautiful Scandinavian name meaning ‘seeing one.’ It is a name in Norse mythology that belongs to the Goddess of Storytelling,” she told DailyMail.com. “While Saga isn’t quite a virtue name like one of Megan’s other children, Journey, the meaning ‘seeing one’ carries spiritual and prophetic connotations, which they likely found appealing.”
Regarding the middle name ‘Blade,’ Slagen noted, “It’s very much in line with the edgy names popular among celebrities today—think Riot or Crash. If anyone were to choose ‘Blade’ as a middle name for their daughter, it would definitely be Machine Gun Kelly. It brings a contrasting vibe to the gentler meaning of ‘Saga.'”
In a sweet gesture, Machine edited his Instagram caption to include a tribute to Megan, stating, “Saga Blade Fox-Baker. Thank you for the ultimate gift @MeganFox.”
Megan has three children from her previous marriage to Brian Austin Green: Noah, 11, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, seven. Machine, whose real name is Colson Baker, is also a father to daughter Cassie, 15. The couple welcomed Saga on March 27, with Machine announcing her arrival through a social media post, enthusiastically declaring, “She’s finally here!! Our little celestial seed.” He described Saga’s birth as an “epic journey” and mentioned she was born into 432 Hz.
Fans reacted positively to the unique name on social media, with many expressing admiration for it. However, some critics shared their disapproval. Notable reactions included, “That’s an icon in the making right there. That’s a power name,” and, “Saga Blade Fox Baker how precious and how perfect.” Yet, there were also comments such as, “Why on God’s green Earth would you name your daughter Sage Blade Fox-Baker? That poor child.”
Megan revealed her pregnancy in November 2022 in an unexpected Instagram post to her nearly 22 million followers. Their relationship faced turbulence during Thanksgiving weekend when they reportedly split due to issues arising from content found on Machine’s phone, leading Megan to prioritize her pregnancy.
Despite the difficulties of their five-year romance, including a brief engagement in February 2023, they have managed to reconcile their differences. Megan has expressed her deep belief that she had manifested Machine Gun Kelly into her life, claiming she envisioned him since the age of four. “He’s literally my exact type that I’ve been manifesting since I was four,” she said, reflecting on their journey together.
The couple first crossed paths during the filming of “Midnight In The Switchgrass” in March 2020.
