Two individuals lost their lives in a shooting that unfolded on the Las Vegas Strip late Sunday night. Authorities believe the incident was a targeted attack stemming from an online dispute.
Undersheriff Andrew Walsh confirmed during a press conference that a suspect has been identified but remains at large. The Las Vegas Metro Police, on patrol near the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, reported hearing gunfire around 10:40 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, officers discovered the victims suffering from gunshot wounds; both were pronounced dead shortly after.
Walsh described the incident as isolated and directed, noting that it escalated following an argument between the victims and the suspect on social media.
“The shooting did not occur inside a casino. Please avoid the area,” the Las Vegas Metro Police tweeted earlier in response to the incident.
The shooting took place on the 3600 block of S. Las Vegas Boulevard, and homicide detectives were dispatched to investigate further.
